Abidis – Locion Equilibriante sin Alcohol (Balancing Lotion with no Alcohol)

wp-1486092221476.jpgOkay this is a product that I must talk about. Its Abidis Locion Equilibriante (Abidis Balancing Lotion). It has no Alcohol and aims to hydrate the skin while you tone it.

About the Product

I was told by my beautician at Face Essensuals that Abidis is a Spanish brand and they usually produce their products in small quantities. This particular product is a Balancing Lotion that is suitable for combination skin or oily skin. It has a minty flora scent and the skin feels hydrated when the lotion is applied (but not hydrated enough to be used on its own). When the watery Lotion drys out, you will feel a very thin coat on your skin that seems to seal in the moisture. You can use any moisturizer on top of this Lotion. The Lotion is bluish green in colour (I have used up the bottle in the picture) and is very watery, often leaving a mild cooling sensation after you apply for a few seconds.

Using the Product

Currently, I am using this Lotion together with my Physiogel Calming Relief Face Cream. The Lotion is not drying and beats the other Toners  or Lotions from the japanese or korean off the rack products. It did improve my skin hydration in the day and helped me stave away from acne due to dry or dehydrated skin. At night, I use another Abidis product on top of the above (less is more) to boost healing and recovery of my skin. I hope to share it with you soon.

Where to Purchase the Item

I bought this from my beautician, Face Essensuals, located at Midpoint Orchard along Orchard Road. You will not find this product on the shelves and will have to purchase through salons or main distributor for this product. The photo of the product in the picture is the old packaging and retails at S$56 a bottle. Please call Serina at Face Essensuals to order your bottle as stock is usually limited to ensure freshness.

Sephora – Soothing Cleansing Milk for Face and Eyes

wpid-collage_20150706125024152_20150706125117184.jpgBought Sephora Soothing Cleansing Milk after using it to clean the testers on my hand in Sephora SG. I must say this is a good product though personally I still prefer to use the Triple Cleansing Water from Sephora.

About the Product and Using the Product

This is a creamy cleansing milk and it does remove makeup on the eye and face very well. It does leave the skin feeling soft without oily feeling. The ingredient list is in the image provided in this post. I would pump out 2-3 pumps of the product onto my hand and spread it onto my face. Thereafter I will massage my skin to help loosen the makeup before I wipe my face with a wash cloth or tissue, followed by rinsing to remove the remnants of the cleansing milk. For precautionary reasons, I further cleanse my skin with my usual facial foam and Clarisonic.

In comparison with Micellar Water that I’ve used, I would have preferred Micellar water over cleansing milk because of the texture. Micellar water is a lot lighter and more refreshing. It is true that this product does remove make up very well, including waterproof makeup. However, personal preference is to choose water based cleanser over milk based for sensitive skin.

If you ask me if I’ll restock this item – I may but unlikely if I can have Micellar water. 🙂 But I must say that for those who prefer cleansing milk, this is a good product to have!

What about you? Do you like cleansing milk? If so, what cleansing milk do you like?

Abidis – Peeling A

Abidis Peeling A.jpgAbidis Cosmetica is one of the brands under Laboratorios Ximart, which is located in ArrigorriagaI, in the province of Bizkaia, in the north of Spain. Laboratorios Ximart has been doing business for six decades, producing and distributing cosmetics, and hairdressing and personal hygiene products which are sold in twenty five countries in several continents.

My beautician / aesthetician from Face Essensuals recommended me to Abidis Peeling A to improve the clarity of my skin which clogs easily. The product ingredients can be found from the image that I’ve included in this post on the left.

Using the Product

This product is for cleansing and peeling, and it can only be used on dry skin. The product is white and dense, and the texture feels like the Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque but more moist.  Apply the product thinly on dry skin and leave it to dry. I leave it on for 3-5 mins usually to benefit from some mild peeling effect to help exfoliate my skin. Given my combination skin condition, my aesthetician recommended that I use this product in the morning, before I prepare for work. I can then wash off the product like a cleanser before I moisturize and put make up on my skin. One can leave the product on till it dries. After I washed off the product, I find my skin hydrated and smooth! After the 3 steps, I find my foundation adhere better on my skin! I also do not experience any over sensitive skin or redness on my skin. Another point to take note is that this product can only be used 2-3 times a week but not every day.

Where to Buy the Product

You can purchase this mild peeling product from Face Essensuals in Singapore, or from online shop Ayurin.

Will I restock this product – probably because this product is pricey! Its about S$125 a tube though a tube can last for a long time.

Biosmos – Olio Essenziale Tea Tree

Tea Tree Oil from Italy that can be used neat and directly on skin without causing burns
Tea Tree Oil from Italy that can be used neat and directly on skin without causing burns

The Olio Essenziale Essential Oil by Biosmos was a product recommended to me by my beautician at Face Essensuals. This tea tree oil comes with a guarantee card that certifies that the tea tree oil is definitely safe (even if you were to consume it like what some users do with Young Living essential oils). I am not adventurous and has always been very careful with essential oils especially after reading about the potential side effects if they were not handled with care.

Biosmos is an italian skin care product company set up by a beautician with many years of experience.  I had used the Biosmos Aloe Vera Oxygenating Water with much satisfaction of its effects hence was not adverse to purchase another of its product. I had purchased this tea tree oil from Face Essensuals to apply on my acnes. Sometimes, when the skin acts up, I do end  up with painful acne on my face that I want to seek quick relief. Though this oil does not give instant relief, it does help to bring down the redness and relief some painful sores from the inflammation. If you have mosquito bites, it can also help sooth the itch with its cooling effect. I have used other tea tree oils from Body Shop as well as Thursday Plantation – I still prefer to use this product because it feels thinner and is quickly absorbed by the skin. In fact, I’m on my second bottle of this product.

How to Use this Product

When you open the fresh bottle, you will need to replace the bottle cap with the dropper that is provided in the box. To use, drop some of the tea tree oil on a cotton swap and apply directly on your skin e.g. acne, insect bites, etc.  You will notice that the tea tree oil is very watery and to some extend looks like water.  As tea tree oils are usually quite strong and known for some form of toxicity, I would stick with using cotton swaps just so that I would not accidentally touch my eyes when I still have product on my fingers.

Where to Purchase this Product

1) If you are based in Singapore, you can purchase this Tea Tree Oil (about S$60+) from Face Essensuals located at 220 Orchard Road, #03-10 Mid-Point Orchard, Singapore 238852; Tel: +65 6732 8237 (Look for Ms Serina Leong). Do give Face Essensuals a ring before you go down to the shop to check if they still have stock on hand. A small bottle goes a long way. 🙂

2) If you are overseas, you can purchase online via the Biosmos Official Website. However, I would recommend that those based in Singapore purchase directly from Face Essensuals because the items sold at Biosmos website are priced in Euros and you will need to factor in the shipment costs which may turn out to be more expensive to purchase online. The website is billingual in Italian and English.
