Label Young – Shocking Serum Ampoule

Labelyoung Shocking Serum Ampoule.jpgThis is part of my Janaury 2015 Haul from Koreadepart. My Sonyu Cream is half pot by now and I thought I should start the next bottle from my latest Label Young Haul.

About the Product

From Koreadepart and Qoo10, the main ingredients are the black seed complex (black bean, black rice, black sesame) and includes base that was formed through crock fermentation process (bean fermentation extract, rice fermentation filtrate extract, green grain fermentation filtrate extract). Black beans include a lot of good ingredients, including cellulose and vitamin E to prevent spots; and anthocyanin to increase skin’s resistence and provide elasticity and vitality. Black Rice contains Anthocyanin and provides good nutrition to the skin.  Black Sesame is known as Longevity Food in China. It contains Vitamin B, Vegetable Fat to reduce dryness. Other ingredients in this product includes Argan Kernel Oil, Olive oil and Jojoba Seed Oil; as well as Galactomyces and BP.  Collectively, this all-in-one Essence + Serum + Ampoule product is supposed to deliver whitening, brightening, anti-wrinkle, tighten pores, elasticity and hydration to the skin. From the website, it does not contain Talc, Ethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Imidazolidinylurea, Carbomer artificial pigment, Triethanolamine, Methylisothiazolinone, Petrolatum, Triclosan and Mineral Oil. The colour of the product is natural.

Using the Product

The website recommends that after normal skincare, apply proper amount on the skin (including under the eye) and then gently use the fingers to lift the skin upwards. Tap lightly thereafter to help with absorption.  I have used the product right after toning. I did not apply additional moisturizer before this product coz I felt that the product is sufficient for me in humid Singapore. My skin will still produce oil in the next 2-3 hours as per normal. I am still unsure if I will buy this item again coz I do not see visible improvement after using it for 1 week. But one thing for sure it didn’t break me out.

Where to Buy the Product

From the usual places – Koreadepart and Labelyoung.com. Some vendors on Qoo10 SG carries it as well.

Dr. Wu – Intensive Acnecur Spot Treatment with BHA

Dr Wu Intesive Acnecur Spot Treatment with BHA.jpgFirst let me apologise for the blur image of the product on the left. 🙂 As you can see I’m clearly not that good in the photography department (HAHAHA!!) Anyway, here’s my other Dr. Wu product that I absolutely love – for my acne of course. I had previously blogged about the Dr. Wu Mandelic Acid product that helps to remove dead skin cells without causing irritation to my sensitive skin. this is yet another product that I would recommend to those who want to treat their pimples and pus-oozing acnes (okay I’m being too graphic).

About the Product

From the Dr Wu website in Singapore, it states that this is an award winning product. It goes on to say that “DR.WU’s unique ACNECUR formula is clinically proven to clear up blemishes and also visibly reduce blemish marks. This revolutionary blemish treatment contains a blemish-fighting complex, Bio-Sulfur and Salicylic Acid, to reduce and prevent acne problems in all stages and also helps existing pimples and acne disappear quickly. It also contains high potency Niacinamide (B3) and Tranexamic Acid to even out skin tone and visibly reduce marks left behind by blemishes.”  The benefits of the main ingredients are as follows:

Niacinamide (B3): Its anti-inflammatory properties help to soothe the skin and promote skin rejuvenation.

Sulphur: A vital mineral that is a natural antiseptic with healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Tranexamic Acid: A whitening ingredient known to prevent spots and blemishes.

Salicylic Acid: An effective acne treatment ingredient that helps to clear and prevent pimples.

The key ingredients in the product are: Niacinamide, Sulfur, Tranexamic Acid, Salicylic Acid,
Target: Oily and Acne Prone Skin

Using The Product

I usually will apply this product in small quantities on the inflammed pimple or pus-filled acne. This product will not work well with acne that is just severely inflammed and has no sign of pus coming out. The product will dry out the pus and it will come off by itself when you wash your face etc. There is no need to use our itchy fingers to peel it off. Remember, peeling it off means scars!! This product is safe if you apply 1-3 times a day (ie morning, noon and night) but so far, I’ve only applied it at night coz I do not want to dry out my acne too much. It contains BHA so please wear sunscreen if you are applying this in the day time.

Where to Buy the Product

In Singapore, you can by this product from Watsons. Or buy them when you’re in Taiwan!

Have you tried any of Dr. Wu’s product? Drop me a comment if you have and let me know how it has worked for you! 🙂

L’Occitane – Amande Huile Souplesse (aka Almond Supple Skin Oil)

wpid-collage_20150320212827846_20150320212934388.jpgWe all have our dry skin days (for those of us with normal skin). This is especially so when we are working in extremely drying air-conditioning environment that makes our hands and legs feel so dry and itchy.  I have a bottle of Nuxe Huile de Prodigieuse in my office, all ready to be slathered on my skin whenever I feel dry.  A proponent of using oils for my skin, I read about this L’Occitane product online and decided to buy it when I was passing through the shop two weekends ago.

About the Product

The Amande Huile Souplesse is made of the following key ingredients: Huile d’amande, Huile de caméline, Huile de Rosier Muscat (ie Almond Oil, Camelina Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil). From the L’Occitane website in Singapore, it said that “Formulated with more than 50% almond oil, this light, fine body oil effectively helps skin feel firmer and smoother. Skin feels nourished and more supple thanks to the ideal combination of almond oil and camelina oil, rich in omegas 3 and 6. This balance provides suppleness and comfort to the skin. A silicium derivative leaves skin looking firmer and tighter. Applied with a spray, this oil melts into the skin, enveloping it with a subtle and mouthwatering scent of fresh almonds while leaving a delicious satiny-smooth finish.

After one month of use, skin feels more comfortable, supple, and firmer.

The almond nut, which grows protected in a beautifully soft and green velvet shell, is renowned for its ability to soften and smooth the skin. L’OCCITANE is committed to purchasing almonds from producers in the South of France so that the almond tree, which had long been forgotten in the region, once again becomes a familiar element in the Provençal landscape.”  There are also tips on how to use the oil. The consumer test results on 31 women are: Immediately>

• Skin looks more beautiful (87%)

• Skin feels more supple (84%)

After 28 days:

• Skin seems smoother (87%)

• Skin looks firmer (65%)

Effectiveness test(s)

48 hours hydration demonstrated (Measurement of hydration rate on 31 women with corneometer)

I did find the product very nourishing. The scent is warm and welcoming (I just want to sleep in it!). The scent does not last super long – I guess thats how it is when the oil is natural; but the oil leaves a layer of “film” on your skin – which I thought it was still there after 1 round of shower in the following 24hours. I have only used it once (hubby finds the scent from initial application too strong) and will continue to use it coz I like the moisturizing effects. Will need to use it for 1 full month (sorry hubby!) before I can tell if it really delivers the effects described above.

Using the ProductAlmond Supple Skin Oil.jpg

This comes with a spray nozzle so its easy to dispense. Squirt some and apply on your arms, legs and body for hydration / moisturizing. Apply in circular motion (I like to also put pressure on my acupuncture points on my legs for improved circulation). However, I was told not to apply on the face as it will be too rich. Rub gently till the oil is fully absorbed.

Where to Buy the Product

I bought it from L’Occitane boutique in Singapore. It has other Almond based products but I thought I should just stick with this first. Its a little pricy (about S$75 a 100ml bottle) but you will soon realise that a bottle like this last a long time. Once open, the bottle must be used up in 12 months from date of opening.

Have you tried any other almond oils yet? Tell me all! 🙂
